Do you see these shoes??? These wonderful, beautiful, comfortable shoes that I got from Payless Shoe Source for a steal?? I LOVE these shoes. Unfortunately, no matter how comfortable a pair of shoes are, my job inevitably kills my feet, since I am required to stand and walk A LOT. Not that I’m complaining, it’s great exercise, but it can be hard on the feet! “So, why not wear comfortable, functional shoes?” you might ask. Well, it’s very simple. I have strange feet and they actually hurt worse when I wear tennis shoes or flats. Plus, I’m short and, if I don’t wear heels, the counter comes up to just under my breasts, which so does not work! Depending upon how busy we get, my feet will start hurting around 1:30-2:00 p.m. With the Dr. Scholl’s For Her Comfort Insoles (which I received complimentary from Influenster), I can usually last the whole day without my feet killing me. Usually, because it really does depend upon the shoes I use them in.
Aren’t these cute shoes???? They feel wonderful by themselves, but add the Dr. Scholl’s For Her Comfort Insoles, and they are pure heaven! I can only imagine how they will feel once I get them completely broken in! I am definitely going to be buying more of these for all of the rest of my shoes. PLUS, I have discovered that Dr. Scholl’s makes all sorts of products that could make my life more comfortable, so I will most likely be investing in those as well! More updates to come, including whether or not I bought the brown version of these shoes! 😉 (I am sorry that the links are hard to read. Haven’t quite mastered the blog yet. As soon as I do, the links will be more noticeable!)
Ok, it’s confession time. I love, LOVE, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese in the blue box! It is so creamy (once you get the obnoxious powder mixed in!) and delicious and SO bad for my family and me. It’s why we rarely eat it, and, when we do, we make pigs of ourselves! LOL So, when we received a container of Annie’s Homegrown Microwaveable Real Aged Cheddar Mac-N-Cheese (complimentary from Influenster for reviewing purposes), we were a bit skeptical. We have had nothing but bad luck with healthy food. They generally are tasteless and the texture is HORRIBLE. So, we were wonderfully surprised when Annie’s Mac-N-Cheese was neither of those things! The noodles cooked up quite nicely in the microwave, were firm and not gluey like some noodles can turn out. The sauce was very creamy and so cheesy and tasty!! The only issue I had with it was that the powder (yes, it’s still a powdered cheese product) did mix up well. It was still a bit clumpy, but it didn’t really affect the taste or texture of the mac-n-cheese at all! Being the silly person I am, I totally forgot to take a picture of the actual mac-n-cheese! But, since I will most definitely be buying Annie’s Homegrown Microwaveable Mac-N-Cheeses (well, any of them, not just the microwaveable ones!) again, I will update this post with pictures and reviews of the other flavors!
So, I believe I mentioned that I had recently joined Influenster in my previous blog. Perhaps not. Influenster is this site that allows you to share your opinions on products and you are given opportunities to test products. Well, I’ve been lucky enough to receive the MamaVoxBox and it contained this little gem:
The Pond’s BB+ Cream has got to be THE best BB cream that I have EVER tried (and I’ve tried A LOT). Now, before I go any further, I must mention that I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes, but I will definitely be buying it when I run out! It is well worth the approximately $10 price tag and I would be willing to pay more for it, which is really saying something! Pond’s also has a contest going on at their Facebook page where you can win a trip for you and your bestie to the Bahamas!!! https://www.facebook.com/ponds/app_324147027731622 is where you go to celebrate your best friend and enter the contest! Now, back to extolling the virtues of this product.
The Pond’s BB+ Cream is a very lightweight cream that goes on sheer, doesn’t clog the pores, and evens out skin tone. This is very important for me since I have a little redness. On the weekends, I generally just wear the cream for sheer, beautiful coverage with a bit of mascara and lip gloss (unless I’m going out, but that’s a different story). During the week, however, I like to layer it for fuller coverage. I’ll put the cream on, wait for it to set and then I’ll put more on. It’s how I make sure to get every part of my face and it is less sheer that way. Then I apply my makeup as usual. Just as a side note, I am terrible at remembering to put sunscreen on before moisturizing! But it’s very important to do so and SPF 15 is, unfortunately, not enough to prevent skin cancer and other skin ravaging damage the sun does, so please choose an sunscreen or moisturizer with an SPF of AT LEAST 30. Layering does not intensify the coverage that you get. You will only get the coverage of the higher SPF, so please choose wisely for your skin.
I do highly recommend the Pond’s BB+ Cream. You can get anywhere from sheer to full coverage with wonderful results. The evening of skin tone and the lightweight coverage (without clogging the pores!!) of this cream are great benefits, as is the reasonable price. This is, by far, one of the best products that I have ever added to my arsenal! Go buy it and see for yourself! 😀
I’m a 38 year old mother of one very impish 13 year old boy. Things can get pretty amusing with him around…and a bit frustrating. Ah, the teen years. I’ve started this blog because I’m an Influenster member and the more social media you participate in, the higher your score. I’m not generally the type of person to write about herself or her life in a public forum (even my Facebook page has a tendency just to be blurbs about random, funny things happening at home, recipes, etc.), so this is a little awkward for me. If you could bear with me, I promise this blog WILL get better! And it will be about more than just makeup! I plan on posting all sorts of things from recipes to crafts to just random things that I find useful or amusing. That being said……
Boredom can be a really bad thing…..especially for me. I have a tendency to do crazy things when I’m bored. Change my hair color, chop off my hair, get another piercing in my ear……signing up for free samples all over the place and then anxiously checking my mail box to see if they’ve arrived, when I KNOW they take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks, depending upon the company! And if the product doesn’t arrive??? Oh, dear. It’s not pretty. It’s a terrible, terrible cycle. Yesterday, however, was not one of those days! I arrived home to find this wonderful free sample in the mail: : Please excuse the blurry photo; I have a crappy phone. I have really small hands, so the fact that this sample basically filled the palm of my hand made me REALLY happy! Now, I’m a relative newbie to this whole wearing makeup as an adult thing. When I was a teen, I wore it all the time, much to the detriment of my skin (mainly because I slept in my makeup all the time)! I’ve only recently started wearing actual makeup again (I don’t count mascara or lip balms/sticks). No idea why I decided to, I just woke up one morning and decided “Why not?” The rest, as they say, is history. So now I look for free samples to try ALL THE TIME. I honestly think it’s become an addiction. Back to the product. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer is great! Only a small pea sized amount is required (which means this sample is going to last quite awhile!) and it leaves my skin feeling silky soft and smooth. Now, as to how it’s supposed to help with foundation, I do not know. As I said, I’m a newbie to this and, even as a teen, I was never really savvy with foundation. My makeup seemed to look the same once I applied it. But, I can say, that I would wear the primer by itself, it feels and looks that good! It may actually be worth the hefty price, which is something for me to say, since I have a very limited budget( having a 13 year old will do that to you)!
